A Little Bit About MSNBC

For those who don’t know, MSNBC is a 24-hour left-leaning cable news channel owned by NBCUniversal. It focuses heavily on political news and commentary from hosts like Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Joy Reid.

Some of MSNBC’s popular shows include:

  • Morning Joe

The channel is included in most mainstream cable packages. But as a cord-cutter, you’ll need to use one of the following apps to access it:

Now let’s get to those activation steps! on Roku and Android TV

Since there isn’t a standalone MSNBC app for Roku or Android TV, you’ll need to download the NBC News app from your device’s app store.

Once downloaded:

  1. Open the NBC News app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select TV Provider
  4. You’ll see an activation code – write this down
  5. Visit
  6. Enter the code and select your TV provider
  7. Sign in with your provider credentials

And that’s it! The NBC News app will now be activated and you’ll have access to MSNBC shows. on Fire TV and Apple TV

Luckily there is a dedicated MSNBC app for Fire TV and Apple TV, making the activation process even easier.
